Blue now all you need to do is to return one of the aforementioned packets of crisps and then you will be in sweet, sweet profit. Oh and have a bag of crisps.

Its Asda.....the checkout chimps are bound to go for it.

I used to work in Sainsbury's and the one of the big flaws was when they put yellow reduction stickers over the 'buy-one get-one frees'. Because of the way the tills worked, if you bought 2 packets of tea at £2.00 each, (buy-1-get-1-free), then it would deduct £2.00 off the bill rather than take off the second item.

So, let's say the tea had been 'yellow stickered' to 50p a pack. Scan in 2 at 50p and it still takes £2.00 off the bill!! (it's the same barcode underneath - just with the reduction) Therefore, you get both items for free and £1.00 off the bill! Bonus.

I had one woman buy about 48 avocado's once - all reduced to 1p. Avocado's were on buy-3-get-1-free, so for every 4p I added to the bill, it then deducted 89p or whatever a full price avocado was. When I was done her bill was -£15 odd quid! She then put the rest of her shopping through, which took the bill back into positive numbers again.

I think the supermarkets might have wised up to this now.

Sure, you see lots of BOGOFs, you see lots of buy 2 for a little bit more than one (but less than the price of two), but where you get TWO for 2/3 the price of ONE??? ... that's just silly!!!

Luke, that's so cool, I need to shop at Sainsbury's, not ASDA then as the store managers are even loonyer at Sainsbury's!!!

It's worth checking the BOGOF, quite often you'll only save about 5p!

Do you often buy 5p products then!?!?

I think you mean the 2 for £2 jobs when one is actaully 99p, not 'buy one, get one free (BOGOF) where you would have 'saved' 99p'

That's what we need up here - healthy competition for the Co-op.

Having just one local supermarket (next nearest is 40miles away and thats another Co-op store) they can charge what the heck they like. Like £1.35 for a loaf of bread anyone? All the fruit and veg is ****e and meat prices are a joke.

They've made so much money out of us they built another bigger store and put the old one up for sale... with a clause to prevent any other supermarket buying the old warehouse. It's now a timber yard. Great. I see the media has cottoned onto this practice and them hogging land in the news last week.

I refused a second bottle of Lucozade Isotonic at a petrol station a few weeks ago, because I only wanted a quick drink, was on the bike with a rucksack full of stuff and couldn't fit a second bottle into the rucksack (as it was I had trouble getting the one I bought into the rucksack!).

There would have been no way I would have walked away WITHOUT the free one ... even if it mean me making myself sick on the forecourt 'downing' it to get rid of it!!
