It's all very simple really, there's only 2 things that you need to know & understand - or 3 if you include Sid Squid's advice about not crashing !! :-

Point 1 - Pointy's are better than Curvy's

Point 2 - Naked is better than Faired


You will note (of course) that I have mentioned nothing about colour - this is because despite what others of the Hovis variety may tell you it really doesn't matter . . .

I could I suppose make a 4th point about 1000cc engines being better than 650cc engines - but that would just be childish !!

Howdy, welcome to the mad house! (someone had to say it!)

If you don't have the passion now, you will have after a while on the forum. I joined the forum as I was/am a pillion on an sv650 (Blue,Pointy and faired, obviously!) and since joining I have passed my cbt and am getting some experience before doing my full test and hopping onto my own sv650 - black!!!

...I still don't have a clue what this lot go on about, just nod and smile!!!

The best I can do on the picture front is upload as an avatar thingy and cut and paste (I dont have the knowhow!).

Bike is a stock as the day it was born with the obviuos exception of smoked fly screen and Pyramid fender extender. And still has the Howitzer sized can.



As for a 1000 - just remember 6 weeks ago I didn't know which end of the horse to get on!

Worst thing is I went a brought leather pants, a blue Shoei and blue/silver/black Dainese textile jacket before deciding what bike to buy and probably look abit anal as it turns out thats the colour scheme for my SV!

On the plus side my missus loves the idea of the fat bloke in tight leather trousers!

All of that and I'm still grinning like Jack Nicholson everytime I saddle up!

I found some stuff on Selkent meets but cannot find anything on AR08 as suggested by Girth - anybody?

No afraid not - AR08 may be a bit too soon for pillion for me! And thers is no chance of me parolled the weekend without her! She did consider having a crack at it but decided against it as she is inherently clumsy!

That and I would have to choose between her and the fishing tackle - no win situation!
