Do you know either way?

Also in the Renegade airkit and Factory Pro stage 2 jet kit (though tbh I wouldn't call the renegade kit performance enhancing, it took me a fair bit of effort just to stop it losing me power, so that's maybe not a good example)

slides alway flutter, regardless of size of hole.there are ways to minimize it.
I had no problem with bigger holes in slides.
raised tank can help with two things, more open for fresh air to get in or hot air get out.

from a theoretical point of view id say that a smaller holes restriction to the volume of air above the slider would add damping to the system.

however I don't see how flutter would hurt power, surely even if the system was overdamped then it would still reach the same position as the average position of a fluttering slide.

slide going up is dependent on vacuum.faster and more you open throttle faster slide wants to go up.at some point it starts flutter.it can do more or less either way.
it also depends on spring on top of slide.you want it as smooth and as fast posible,to cut down on delay time.

+1 for smooth and fast movement

However, without adding some sort of dashpot like you see on an SU carb or the like, how do you reduce flutter?

And why does flutter actually hurt power, it seems like an intrinsic part of how one of these carbs works to me, i.e unless the slider has no mass then you can't avoid it.

slide does 2 things, opens hole for air and fuel.flutter is fast opening/closing of those 2 holes.not fully but it changes hole size.in grand view it probably does not hurt much at all but for those perfectionists it is bad

I know what the slide does hehe

So a worthwhile modification in your opinion?
