Exactly Blue ... and it doesn't end there ... After my off last year (almost a year ago to the day), I phoned my insurers (eBike) about the accident, but said that as I was lay on my back in the outside lane of the motorway at the time, I didn't manage to get the name of the idiot who pulled out and hit me ... they told me that I would have to speak to the police who were at scene at the time ... so several days (and several phone calls) later ... I eventually speak to the officer who was in attendance, who kindly gave me all the details (he even gave me the guys full name, address and registration - none of this data protection bo||ocks), and THEN told me that I really ought to be getting my insurers to do this, as that was what NORMALLY happened ... not very impressed with eBike on that score ... nor about trying to get hold of their customer services (I wish you luck) ... but all done n dusted now, and I'm with MCE this year

To be honest, I think that for the price, and the ease-of-use (most things done online), the minor niggles which is what they are really, weren't worth bad-mouthing them at the time
At the end of the day, it didn't affect the outcome of my claim (I was at fault for filtering too fast - d'oh!)

It was only a tenner cheaper for me ... and I lost out on 'any bike' cover .. I took it us as I liked the idea of being able to stitch up to 4 bikes on my policy

Well it was my first bike insurance and was a quite a bit cheaper than the competition at the time.
Now you come to mention that "any bike" cover, I think I may actually have been riding around without proper insurance cover for 3 months of last year, as I never checked my insurance policy with respect to covering me on "loan" bikes whilst mine was in for repair. I just thought I'd automatically be covered, but not sure by whose insurance?!? Mine or the dealers??

MCE were the cheapest for me ... admittedly I didn't ring round a LOT of insurers.
But eBike were the cheapest by far for my first year's insurance. Then they quoted me around £475 for my 2nd year (after 1 "my fault" accident).

I phoned MCE and they quoted me £330, which because I'm paying monthly, brings it up to about £380, but its still almost £100 cheaper than eBike.

Some of the places I got quotes from were bloody ridiculous.
Carol Nash couldn't do me a policy for less than £500 (and that was with a fairly big excess). MCE's website also actually quoted me some ridiculous figure, but cos I left them my number during the quote, they actually phoned me back within minutes!

Before long, the guy on the end of the phone had managed to get my quote down to £330, and said that if the bike was garaged, he could have done it for "well under £300".

Give them a call and try ... can't do any harm

Ill give MCE a ring. Ive already got a great quote from H&S insurance, its like £500 cheaper than anyother!

What I want is for an insurace company to insure me with 3 year NCB 2 weeks before I get the 3rd year NCB... I might phone MCE and H&S and see what they think. Reason i want to do this is that my current insurer (bennetts & AXA) wont change my insurance from the SV650 to the Aprilia Falco... GITS.

Has anyone done this before, use the NCB a couple of weeks before they actually accumulate them?
