It is considering if she pushed him nothing would have happened. Why is it every time a white person hits or abuses a black/asian person its made out to be racial but if they do it to us that’s ok?? That’s what f**ks me off

Oh Neio, and we were getting along so well

I'm sorry but your view has been tainted (a) by the Daily Express and (b) by the fact that there are a total of twelve people in the whole of Gloucestershire/Wiltshire that are non-white. The police and the courts deserve a whole boat load of criticism and I'll be the one to dish it out most of the time but on racial discrimination of white hetrosexual 20/30 something males I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. I grew up in Nottingham, proud holders of the Gun Crime Capital of the UK title Most of the violence there was/is drug and gang related and completely unrelated to race. Like all big cities however, some of it is, and as a white bloke there are bits of St Anns I wouldn't feel overly happy about walking through. That said I'm equally pretty certain that if my skin was any other colour you choose to pick I'd be similarly vulnerable as an "outsider". In Nottingham at least, and in other multi cultural cities I've lived and worked in (Leicester being another prime example) race related crime is actually treated seriously regardless whether the victim is black, white, brown, orange or green.

My girlfriends best friend works for Nottinghamshire police....she was recently inputing applications for full time police. She was told to only input ethnic minorities and women.....so if you were white british male and applied for nottingham police recently your application went in the bin.

Positive Discrimination now thats what really ****es me off

I'm sorry but I call b0llocks on that. Plain and simple b0llocks. If that really did happen then your best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend or whoever it is should go to the press right now - it's illegal - completely and utterly illegal.

EDIT: I'm completely serious here - basically I'm saying "screenies or it didn't happen" - if that really did happen then there are no "ifs and buts", it's 100% illegal. If a police force really are blatantly breaking the law, then they deserve to be hung out to dry in the press and then in the courts, there is no shadow of a doubt this is completely illegal.

EDIT 2: And if she doesn't report it then she's aiding and abetting a crime.

She was round for dinner last night telling us about it, shes not one to lie.

Edit: Its a known fact anyway that police give preferential treament to ethnic minorities at the moment, its already been in the press, and was apparently justified as 'realigning resources to conform with multicultural Britain' or a qoute to that effect.

Then she should report it right now. Until she does then she's either making things up or she's collaborating with the perpetrators of the crime. Sorry. The last people to use the "I was just following orders" excuse ended up in Nurenburg. It's illegal. I'll say again. IT'S ILLEGAL.

EDIT (again): I'm really really serious here. I'm all for spouting my own opinion but I'm not making allegations of illegal activity by, of all bodies, a police force. If you witnessed a crime would you report it? Would it not both be your legal and more importantly your moral duty to report it. If she really was instructed to do as she claims then she was instructed to commit and proceeded to carry on to commit an illegal act. SHE has broken the law, and if she doesn't report it sharpish then she is just as guilty as those who commanded her to do so. Ignorance of the law is no defence.

No, that's not evidence of what your girlfriend's friend claims. That's evidence of actively targetting under-represented groups, and that's completely different to actively rejecting applicants based purely on their skin colour or sex.

Yet another EDIT: Been in the press, sure it has - http://www.channel4.com/news/article...ination/169440
I'll quote:
"A police force has admitted illegally rejecting 108 potential recruits because they were white men."

Ok, then your friend is equally guilty. Sorry, but it's as simple as that, she's witnessed a blatant crime - systematic, endemic and institutional and has decided to go along with and to assist in that crime. If she chooses not to report a blatant crime perpetrated by those we entrust to uphold the law but to assist in it then I don't see why anyone should have much sympathy for her.
