A 750 is a bit beyond my means or requirements at the moment. Besides, I kinda like ragging the bikes.

well if you like ragging it R6 might be a good choice. The GSXR600 is a great bike too.

I test rode two 06 reg CBR-600rr'd earlier and I wasn't expecting them to be too much different to the SV, but man was I wrong! Once I got used to the first one it absolutely belted and did rip my arms off once it got past about 7k......and it had another 10k to go loved it.
Haven't ridden a GSXR 600 yet, next on my list. Thing I really noticed about the bike is how much lighter and responsive it felt and how you feel part of it! |

I've ridden an '06GSXR600, and what they say about them being underpowered is true..........if you expect it to perform like an IL4thou or 1098 or something. In real terms they're far from underpowered, and they come with what I consider to be the best part of the litre superbikes, the fantastic handling, but in a leaner and even more fun package (imo).
Only real issue for me is comfort, but then if that is an issue why look at sportsbikes at all? |

Dan.. if you are happy raggin the bike, then it's a fun bike...
but raggin is keeping it well on higher revs.. and as Balky says, if you like to rag... try the R6, even better!! I used to have a thundercat and most people don't like them, but they are faster than the R6 or gixxer600... all because the power is delivered throughout the power band... you don't get a massive kick, of course it kicks at 11k revs roughly... but you can open the throttle at 3k revs and she'll go straight off.. that's where the R6 and gixxer lack.... |

![]() As shocked as I was to find out the SV wet weight is 5KG lighter than the 06-07 Gixxer 600 and same as 04-05 gixxer 600. ![]() |

The SS600's are race bikes at the early design stage, they will feel lighter because of the design and weight placement.

DD - evening. It felt the b*ll*cks and strangely more comfortable and less wristy than the SV, perhaps I was wearing a rose tinted visor? Sorry for the derail!
