Why do you want to clean the shock then? It'll only rust on preload adjuster.

Coat it with ACF-50, my 8 year old Ohlins looks as good as the 1 year old unit.

Paddock stand, rear wheel off, crap flap off, easy job then!

Other than that, stop being so paranoid on how clean your bike is!

When the damping's going off, replace the shock. This should be somewhere around 20-30,000 miles. You may as well clean it while it's out.

why dont they do lizard skins for motorbikes? I have had them for my mountain bike keeps all the muck off.

I am sure someone does, it would have to be heated resistant fabric though due to the close proximity of the rear downpipe.

As now I have the hugger it should not get so dirty again. So I want to clean it and see how clean it stays. Get the oil off. I will put ACF50 on my bike soon. Have already done some bits.
