Its official - if you use a Satnav to get you to somewhere you have already been then its called "****nav".

It is acceptable in those situations to use the Satnav if you get lost, but automatically turning it on and programming it for EVERY journey - ****nav

Not sure what expletive is blocked out there...

I wont use it for every journey, but mostly for places im unfamiliar with. I will only turn it on when i get nearer to the place i need to be (mainly to get by on the 3.5 hours battery life).

Im going out maybe on saturday to a location i wont say yet... but i'll be posting pics in a sad, anticipating kind of way.

I've noticed on motorways that the "keep right" instruction is usually responsible for some idiot doing 50mph in the outside lane. Especially noticeable at night when for some reason the device is still in day mode.

+1 @ ****nav

Ive gave the satnav a try, but its terrible in sunlight. Probably worse at this time of day, but if im going to think about keeping it in the tankbag then i need to find a different method of mounting it...

Have you got the LCD backlight turned up? That usually helps daylight readability.

Cheers

BTB, I go for Garmin units now because there is a wide range of tools that make them useful with OSM.
