As for xbox breaking and PS3's not doing.......you have to be joking, PS3 have sold a 1/4 of what XBOX360 have, they also have a higher failure rate per number of consoles sold.

For example on COD4 people have developed autoaimers online, they have also developed programme so that the opposition stand out as red dots even through building so you can see someone coming around a corner before they do.
chinny reckon . think that might be a bit internet bull ****

Never mind blind statistics, speaking from the small amount of people i know with consoles i base my opinion on,
I know around 10 people who have had or have XBOX's and all of them had the ring of death problem and or something else go wrong (some more than once).
I know probably 12 people with PS3's and not 1 of them has had a failure yet (he writes with crossed fingers)
I have personally owned my ps3 18 months and have an early 60g with no problems as yet.#

A new type of 360 with an improved chipset which runs cooler has recently been launched I believe, search for "Xbox 360 Jasper chipset".

They all run way cooler and much quieter if you install the games to the hdd though. I've got a 60GB version which is enough to install a handful of games and still have plenty of room for downloads (demos mainly). Get one with a bigger hdd I'd say.

Don't worry too much about the 'RROD' problem... get them to give you a warranty on it.

If you want, buy a cheaper one with no hard drive and I can sell you my old 20Gb drive (upgraded to 60Gb recently)

'RROD', specifically, is covered by an extended 3 year warranty f.o.c now anyway.
