Yeah, I wish I could have kept longer and seen a few more folk out and about, but I'm moving into central Edinburgh at the end of August so the cash is handy as I got a really good deal on the bike..

I'm happy with what I achieved this year anyway, the main goal was to get on a bike again and get over the fears which took me quite a while after repairing the bike to get the courage and weather to do, but it was done and I couldn't be happier about it.

Plus I managed one reasonable rideout and met up with a few folk. Although i was pretty worn out afterwards and slept for a few days after, I managed it and so happy that I did. It will also be so much easier to get back on a bike in the future.

I also know how hard it was for my parents to come to terms with me getting on a bike again, especially my dad. So it was only fair that I kept to the agreement and respected their opinion. So if the bike wasn’t sold, it would have just been put back into storage in September anyway.

I think that's really sensible, and exactly the way to have the parents on side. Good for you fixing it up, and I#m glad you managed the riding it too, it's a feeling of relief when you conquer that one.

Go for it OYB, you have your confidence back and a pootler for Edinburgh seems like the way to go. A wee 125 in the traffic'll boost your confidence no end and get you back on the road.

White wheels, as everybody should know, drops 20kg off the weight of your bike. Er, visually only pedants ok?!

Saves a fortune on chain lube and front brake pads too. (Used sparingly, both!)

The nice and shiny bit is taken care of by free rags and WD40. Tennis elbow hello.
