Thats very good actually.

My chavvy 1.4sri Corsa, is a 01' model, is worth around 3K, done 50K miles, and my insurance is £1400 TPFT.
It works out roughly £1 per cc for the average young male in a average young persons car.

Since I had a little mishap in it, resulting in a claim against me, my renewal is going to be, a very reasonable, £2000
Guess I will be keeping the bike and flogging the car

The really strange thing is the difference for me between fully comp and TPFT was only about £50. The really big turn off was the compulsory excess was £350 which I really didn't want where as it was £100 TPFT.

Try using CIS (Co-operative Insurance). Make your dad the main driver and you as a named one (you'll still get your own NCB build up. My first car was a fiat punto 1.2L and I paid ~600 FC. Now I'm insured on my brother's 1.6L ford focus and with the four of us (I'm 18 now and my brother's 21) all insured on it we're paying about £800 FC. Get a quote online and then phone them and tell them to lower the price.
I found those comparison sites rubbish when looking for car insurance

That takes it down another 400 quid, but it'd be fraud in my case, as the only reason dad is on the quote is to reduce the price Still, if they can do it 400 quid less straight away, I sure as hell will get the price down to that with me as main driver.

Scott, did you get it at Wyboston by any chance?

Well it's your call obviously. I can't think of any way they could prove that you were driving it all the time. They'd need solid evidence to take you to court for fraud, speculation wouldn't be enough. I don't know you or what £400 means, but personally I'd take the saving and be a named driver
How much is it with CIS with you as the main driver and your dad as a named one?

Nope Great Barford.

Please don't tell me there's a cheap car there. Me, my dad and brother have been looking for ages and couldn't find anything. Now it seems we are not looking for one they seem to be popping up from everywhere now.

Scott, if you find another one, you'll have a pair of roller skates . So does this mean you're giving the bike up? . Insurance is expensive for your age group mate, Jane's son has a metro (get together and use them on alternate days lol) and its the same.

It feels like a roller skate when I'm in it. There's not a chance I'll give my bike up. I've done 23,000 miles on my bike in a year and a half. It's now getting to the point where not only is it being serviced every other month but things are starting to wear and corrode. So each service needs an extra £20 here for that part and £30 there for another.

At least with a car I can get the bodywork sorted and get the upgrades I've always wanted to do done on it.

I like a man with a keen eye for detail. The indicator lens cap is missing.
