You might as well save your money and keep your curvey SV. Its not an upgrade its just swapping like for like.. IMHO its a waste of time.. you've got an SV now why swap for another... the FI isnt a great advantage over the curvey carbs TBH having ridden both the only real difference is the riding position...

true, but my SV is quite old, and could well be more suite to an owner with more recreational reasons for owning a bike, not having a bike for everyday use. To have a newer SV, with less miles on, should hopefully mean less things to go wrong. FI isnt the deciding factor, but it would be nice...rather than faffing about with a choke each morning

Another vote for the Sprint - got a gel seat on mine, feels like I could ride it all day long.

Much better than the SV1000 two up - if you want 'versatile' then the Sprint ticks all the boxes.

I'll have mine at the AR so if you make it there, you can have a good look

If I were in your position, I'd be looking for something else and changing bikes. Theres better bikes out there for what you want to do with it than an SV pointy or curvey IMHO.

you are right fizz, thats why the SV option is just something on the back-burner. I'd ideally like something differant, yamaha's fazer thou or a triple from hinckley would be really nice to own. They cost alot though dont they i suppose it would be worth it if they are good, well built, reliable bikes. Whatever I get, i' get my money's worth as long as it starts every day and dosnt need much more than regular servicing and cleaning. My SV has more than fullfilled its duty in terms of work done versus money spent!

So go for it, IMHO if you have the budget and can afford to run and insure it then go for it, if you got another SV if you are like me you may well end up regretting it and stuck with a bike you bought on finance or worked hard to save up for and thinking in a year or so "I wish I had bought bike X,Y or Z instead"

Now heres an option

Keep your SV a little longer, and get some more money saved up in the bank, then get the bike changed for something else, keep your SV as a 2nd bike and then is Maria planning on doing her test if so you have a nice SV for her to begin her biking career on...

oh, if i could keep the little SV as a track bike...i dont have the room at elast, not until me and maria get a house

i think saving up more money is a good idea, then get a really good low-milage triumph or yamaha.

ooo another good thing about the Fazer thou...

...it would own my dads GSXR in a straight line fight (I think)
