Could be bad tuning that though.
On mine I already have M4 pipe, JHS stage 2 cams, everything in internals is stock so far. Using BMC race RS air filter with 160 (or maybe 165) mains. So it is either get some main jets big enough to stick a knitting needle through and some pod filters, or flats? Zadar, have you used pods on stock carbs, or was that on flats? I remember hearing 220 main size mentioned.

on stock carbs. you can use filters on flats if you want. either strap foam around velocity stacks or buy adapters for K&N or BMC.

Not to jump in off thread, what about the comparison between flats and say stock with ram air

How can you fit ram air to SV?
And also ram air is no good to me, I spend most time between 60-90mph when in need of power. For ram air to do anything here I would need a scoop the size of a sky dish.

I thought ram air was pointless below something like 150, only thing really worthwhile is to take cool air from the front of the bike rather than pre-warmed air from behind the radiator.
I had the scoops on the OEM style fairing of my SV feeding tubes that pointed at the airbox but lost them when I swapped to the GSXR fairing, I intend to do a bit of fairing work to re-direct the air and keep radiator air and intake air separate but I'm not going to bother with ram air, especially as my SV only will do about 125mph Druid

one of the chaps here who set up my suspention was discussion it with me, he said back when the 99's came out and they were starting to race them they came up with the idea of moving the rad lower, so you could build an air box comming in from the front fairings through the nose cone essentially.
I'm afriad i've no pics only going on what he said, but he did say you'll need to boost up the mains to around 180 + but the gains you could get per track set were huge. Again, all hear say, just interested in the idea more so, but like your self chris my speeds are around the 60 in town etc |

Might have miss phrased that, new as in back when the 99's came out, and they started to race them here, and in line with some of the rules of the races you see ... ram air, well that not new of course
