You could try the other site, that we all stayed at last year. About 10/15 miles away IIRC

ok guys i need to get a tent for this (having left the last one at the AR09 much to peoples discust! Any tips on what its going to be like up there? (i know you cant predict the future but generally) is it soft ground or do you need a mat? is it likely to be blowing a gale (requires more than 6 quid on the tent this time then) etc etc.

It's as soft as an average campsite really, from memory. I never bother with mats unless we take the car and didn't suffer aches when we were at the same place two years ago.

Spending a bit more on a tent is wise tho. There's a horrible moment when you wake up in a soggy tent and realise £30 more would have saved you the hassle. Especially so as it's a two nighter. On day2, you dont wanna be crawling into a sleeping bag thats soaking wet from the night before.

If it's just something to stay in yourself, and easily pack onto the bike try finding a Gelert Fossa. I've had mine 6 years, it's done countless bike rallys in grim conditions and never let me down. It's really comapct, 5mins to set up on your own and dead light too, i think it was £35 back then. It's a one-man( + lid and gear... just) tent tho, so keep that in mind.

See ya there!

Just find yourself a cheap airbed Andy. Usually on sale pretty soon for stupid price in Asda.

I bought one of these last year for my Euro Trip and it's brilliant - £40 well spent!

LOL, well had I not been so used to sleeping in the same tent as crippled other halves I don't think I'd have ever got an airbed.
