It's going to be a last minute decision for me - I'm waiting to hear whether I can visit my friend and her new baby, for the first time, on Sat morning.

Be good to see you guys
Yes, this Saturday.
10ish....dependant on the traffic, seeing as everywhere seems to be limited to 50mph.
We're in the gaylander, and so far its seeming to be fixed

A question, this congestion charge thingy, how does you do it? How do you pay it? where? blah blah...

as it's not bike applicable I know very little about it, I know you can pay by phone or at certain shops, beyond that it's a mystery to me, and hopefully will remain so

Here's their web site though .

Cheers Mark.

coolio, 10 aint too early so i'll see you guys there.

And as DT says, its congestion charge free at weekends but parking anywhere in the zone is gonna be tough unless you know london like the back of your hand and are willing to spend a fair amount of time zig zaging about finding spaces.

you may be better off to do the touristy thing and park up close to a tube or bus station and buy a travel card. If you do make sure you go to oxford street and get your moneys worth from it by getting on a bus for only one stop and then getting off and getting on the next bus for another stop and repeat until bored. At this time of year the buses on Oxford street are so many its like a train of buses and you two are just silly enough to enjoy doing it too.

Me and my friends used to do it when we were kids and all the buses were routemasters, we just didnt bother with the travel card bit cos you'd jump on, the conductor would ask where you were going to and you simply told him a destination that you knew full well was in the opposite direction, hey presto he'd say "get off at the next stop then, you wanna be going the other way". Used to get about most places in london that way if truth be told and god help me, i remember that the child fare in those days was only 2p!

We'll be parking at the hotel. Well if we're paying for it, we may as well use it to full advantage.

Besides, that tank would barge anything but a London bus out of its way!

ooops edit, Dizzy posts in Pegs name again!

If you get really stuck for parking then let me know as you could park at Lord's. Close to Baker Street and St John's Wood tube stations or a short bus ride to the West End.

Everything around here is turning to sheet ice and we are due for another dusting of snow so I will wait till the morning and ring you.
It has been a bit chaotic round here today with them just getting the A12 cleared so they can have more accidents tonight and in the morning.
It is the first time I have seen them use the word Dangerous in the driving reports and I nearly fell on my carrot when I stepped outside the front door a couple of minutes ago------its quite bad so be careful on the way down tomorrow
