When i did my CBT, the instructor didnt let 2 of our group go out on the day, but said they could come back again free of charge, except for hire cost of bike.
I went out first with another guy and he told the other two to stay in the compound and practice on their own.
When we got back the one had binned it on the gravelly tarmac trying an emergency stop, slid the bike and his knee along and did a fair bit of damage.
He only had jeans on and they were ripped to shreds, cut his knee etc, when i went back for my DAS, the instructor told me he never heard from him again.
If you have never even sat on a bike before, like this kid, it is a lot to take in 1 day.

After that I passed my bike test 1st time.

Hold on.... Do we seriously want this rider on our roads...?! haha 2 fails is pretty bad! I shot up a curb on my CBT and didnt fail. Did your husband actually run someone over in order to fail?!

I'd rather have an instructor willing to say "you're not ready" than one who passes people who can't keep their bikes on the road...

when a car is coming at you, that curb looks a lot safer tlw.

the day i did my cbt there was guy on his 7th attempt, still yet to get off the car park, i remember thinking your not going to give up yet then?, when he wasnt allowed off the car park again while i was there i thought he was going to cry, he had now paid the £70 fee 4 times and bike hire only on the other 3 times. tell your hubby not to worry i have heard of worst people on a bike, well its wasnt a bike really scooter.

My god, loads of judgement going on here, lol! I just couldn't get it together with the gears, and I'm really glad my instructor failed me, I was crap.

It takes me ages sometimes to work stuff out, then it just clicks. I'd never been on a bike before, apart from pillion a couple of times years ago. Don't think it's maybe the most constructive thing to slag people off about, I'm sure I'm a better rider for it, I certaintly spent hours practising!

Anybody can be taught anything within reason, some take longer than others, nothing wrong with it.
But... there are some people who will not be safe in charge of something with an engine no matter how much training they have, not fair but true.
