No, it will be fine. Chances are that the system will pull it up as what ever colour it was. The tester can chabge the colour on the VTS device if he wants, however I doubt they'll even notice.

You can also ride it to a polling station on election day without tax, but I suspect I'm being a tad optimistic here....

Nope,

clock lights arent testable. The only tell tale you need are for indicators (but dont even need that if you can see at least one indicator on both sides)

Not the point I was making and you know it!!!

I wouldn't even consider dodging tax, insurance or MOT. But equally, I don't fuss over getting a vehicle without any of these to or from a test (you can also drive/ride to or from repairs which are necessary for the test).

You need 3rd party insurance to ride/drive to an MOT.

I recently got a tug the day after purchasing my tax disc from the post office, however i didnt have the allen key I needed to affix it to zee bike.. Off to frauds I pop and get done on the way home!!!!! And it was followed up. Dont take any risks, there are some right douchebag coppers out there that will do you for the minutest of little details just because its another tug on their target sheet.

Helps to see the speedo at night though. Can't remember the number, but instruments are usually those little push-in bulbs. Get the right wattage, or they could melt your instrument panel! I have done this, fortunately to a very crummy 125.

Offence is actually failing to display the disc... did you have it on you? They must have eyes like eagles to see a missing disc on a moving bike! Still, v. anal.

Didnt have the disk on me mate, the copper was literally staring at my bike from 100 meters away allll the way up until i rode past him, he was desperate to find something annnd he did.

And Re the bulb lights - no they arent a fail. Well, if they were, the two stations i took my last bike too (which didnt have working light clusters) didnt notice
