Buying with no V5 + Tax?

do you have a dvla office mear you, we have one in preston so if it were me i'd go with the owner to the office explain the situation pay tax to them on the spot , obviously you'll both need id ,as well as the mot and insurance but im sure they can sort it there and then

Well...

Called DVLA and in this situation the best (and legit/proper) procedure would be to:

A) Of course, apply for a new logbook, wait til it comes through and do it the normal way
B) Current Keeper needs to go to local DVLA office with ID, MOT cert and Insurance to get a Tax disc. He can then sell the bike to me without a log book, instead writing to the DVLA informing them of all the details of sale. The new keeper then needs to send a V62 off to get a V5.

So. The seller is still insured on the bike luckily. But he cant get down the local DVLA office.

Can be done, just not sure the time constraints allow this to happen by tomorrow...

He managed to get a Tax disc, by asking a family member to go to the DVLA office with his ID. Luckily he still had valid insurance too!

MOT reprint is easy enough.

V5 is being re-ordered, all go!
