yep - Towsure is the one. I have passed it nearly everyday on the way to work. Also all of my dads cars have had the towbars fitted there and they havent fallen off or anything.

Could you use one of those things to carry an SV on the back of a Honda accord Estate? if it had a tow bar fitted?
Be cheaper than hiring a van, plus you've something to show for it at the end. |

so as long as what you're towing doesnt weigh more than the vehicle you're using to tow it then you're fine on just a cat B licence... Did I read that right?

"Category B vehicles may be coupled with a trailer up to 750kgs MAM" And thought a bike trailer isn't likely to get over 750kgs, not towing a sports bike anyway. So you should be fine with just cat B. I hope i'm right otherwise i've been towing my track bike around illegally for 2 years... |

I would think that will exceed the capability of the tow bar to support the weight. These tow-bar mounted carriers are all very well for push-bikes but are a little sketchy IMO for heavier items. A tow bar is designed to PULL not LIFT, so may not be happy with a heavy weight on it. Most tow hitches specify a nose weight (downward force on tow ball) of 50-75KGs, so putting a 160KG SV on ther might not be such a great idea...
