I reckon my dad's a secret mobster. He knows everyone in the town and is business partners with a magistrate. I reckon she helps him out in sticky situations.

Relative to a brass cased round, a firework, or a gallon of petrol, or a fork. No idea why you would get heebyjeebies? Weapons and ammunition are just tools, lots of stuff just as, or more dangerous.

Type of powder used in a shotgun cartridge, at that grain size etc will only burn violently when confined, the cartridge isn't sufficient confinement to get a bang. Probably.

Making any sort of device to fire them is very illegal, and very dangerous, confinement makes for high pressures which can cause explosions. PM me if you want to know how *

*I am joking.

Just FYI that does not apply to any other sort of ammunition, any brass cased round whether it's rimfire or centrefire is section 1 ammunition and can't be in possession of general public without a licence and even then only a number allowed on your ticket.

Due to some idiots who they never catch the penalties for firearms offences are really serious these days for anyone who isn't likely to do anyone any harm. Of course if you're into rap music and mowing down innocent bystanders with machine pistols you can crack on, you'll probably get an ASBO. The 5 year sentences are reserved for those hardened post office robbing types who have air rifles making 12,1 ft lbs energy
(cynical, me?)

What a ill (bordering on the stupid)advising post-harmless you say -aye right-i've got a mate who had a brain fart a few years ago and decided to get a hammer and a nail together with a shotgun cartridge-end result was fingers in tatters and years of reconstructive surgery with permanent nerve damage-and you say you've been a shooter for years i would expect you to be more aware of the dangers.
