Thanks for the support guys i really needed it, felt rubbish earlier. Still a bit gutted but like you all say its a learning curve. I'm going to touch it up with some touch up paint for now as theres a good chance it could happen again while i'm still a rookie. I would snap up those crash bungs in a second but i just paid off my insurance so don't even have any money get them until a couple of weeks really hope they don't sell any time soon.

Are they easy to fit? Where do they actually stick out on the SV? Does anyone know the paint code for my type of SV (see my avatar)?

Crash bungs are easy to fit mate, i think the paint code might be on your v5 or I might have imagined that lol

Be positive, you've got your drop out the way now so no need to do it again

I understand how you feel. For me, it was my first time out on my bike after getting my license.

I low-sided on a turn at an intersection due to a range of errors (too much throttle, popped the the clutch, and didn't lean enough in the turn). I crossed traffic and hit gravel on the other side of the road at 30+ mph and went down. I remember thinking at the time, "Hey, I'm actually crashing". The bike was extensively scratched and turn signal broke off. I suffered a severely bruised hip that was painful/purple for over a month. That was a year ago but I'm fine today with about 5,000 miles without other incidents.

So, it could have been worse. Glad you're okay. Always keep learning and ride safe...

I went over on my mates drive as he had just got the surface sealed and it was way slippy the rear tyre let go as i pulled onto it and bike ended up on my leg doh! Colour code should be on your V5 as specialone said but can also be on a sticker on the underside of your fuel tank.

It's inevitable I'm afraid. Just count yourself it wasn't as embarassing as mine.

Pulled up facing down a hill, got off and went into shop. Now, I'm a short **** so when I attempted to get back on while bike facing down the hill I didn't get my leg up high enough and somehow kicked it over.

3 blokes in a scaffolding van stopped to pick it up for me.

In all seriousness - it happens and will likely happen again. Just learn from it and don't worry.

With regards the crack bungs, do they get in the way of your knee at all? Btw thats a lovely bike, really like the colour! Is the bottom half a split paint job?
