Get a Henry - they're supposed to be really good for the money.

Pretty sure dyson have a five year guarantee- mine broke recently and they came to house, fitted new motor etc no charge. Best Hoover I've had and we have two dogs and two messy teenagers.

Edited to add they have a five year parts and labour warranty.

I use a Henry for work, taken out of the van about 4-5 times a day generally missused, pics up any thing, handle broke on it once, cost about a 10er for a bit of plastic, at home we have a bagless Morphy Richards storm pets 1800 watts, had it a couple of years now, no complaints, was probobly about a quarter the price of a Dyson

Had a Dyson for over a decade , replaced the belt that drives the brush and the brush itself once . Not really had any major issues but my gripes with it are that they are a pain to vacuum stairs with , and the wand bit that pulls out like an extension is a right pain in the gritter . Other than that , it has done the job well , don`t think I would lash out the penniies on another Dyson though , I got mine on a cheap deal before the Millenium and that deal has never been repeated since .

Dyson.

Does everthing a vacuum cleaner should and if you trash it... say the sake of argument someone of a female gender ran over the thing while cleaning her car - the nice Dyson people will repair it for a max if £70. That was a couple of years ago and we ended up with a new one effecyively.

Not being a sexist I never use this story to obtain free beer...
