just an FYI from thames water:

Can I wash the following using a hosepipe: Car, motorbike, taxi, company car, caravan, trailer? Under the Temporary Use Ban you can not wash any of the above with a hosepipe or similar apparatus. You can however use a bucket, as long as you do not fill it using a hosepipe.
If your vehicle or its trailer is a “goods vehicle” (i.e. constructed or adapted for use for the carriage of goods) then it is not affected by the ban, but we ask that all our customers use water sparingly.

I suspect this is because most commercial trailers have advertising on them and you could probably claim some sort of 'right' to be able to show your advertising on the trailer, or if it is a works vehicle for building site or farm you may be spreading mud all over the road if you do not wash it off. Now to be fair we are the first to complain if we hit a muddy patch on the road due to a tractor leaving it there.

personally im more interested in the fact you can still wash your vehicle but only using a bucket which has not been filled by a hosepipe. the rest was just the remaining answer they posted on their website
