I'm not too bad now. Just write down and photograph everything. What matters is you are ok.

The bike is def a write off from those pictures. If its your only form of transport and he has admitted liability get his insurance to pay for a hire bike unroll yours is suitably repaired or you have been paid out in full. That gets them moving faster

no point looking for parts. Look for bikes. It's coming to the end of summer and prices are dropping.

Oh, and if i were you i would take a hire bike. Again, like for like SV650S or similar.

Good luck with a taxi driver. Had an accident with one in my car years ago. 4am in morning, not a soul around. He agreed it was 50/50 to blame. Next thing I knew he had 4 witnesses, all from same area of Halifax, all taxi drivers! Reported it to police who said just take it on the chin cos I had no chance even though it was obvious what was going on. He claimed for all sorts of injuries and ludicrous loss of earnings even though there was nothing wrong with him when we exchanged details plus I saw him driving a taxi about 2 week later. He pulled it off and I got a fine and 3 points, I was speechless.

I binned my SV last year, front end was wrecked. I paid £400 for an almost new front end (from our very own bibio), and then probably about another £200 for all the other bits and pieces (fairing, lights, fairing brace etc). If you decide to repair it then try get the fairing and mudguard in the original colour (and front wheel if you replace that), I ended up buying different colour stuff and getting it resprayed as it's a PITA to find YC2 coloured bits. Respraying was expensive.

That's just to give you an idea. I was lucky I was able to get a full front end rather than separate bits, as others have said it might be less hassle just to get a new bike; I repaired mine as I saw it as a good opportunity to learn more about motorcycle mechanics and it gave me something to do whilst my shoulder healed.

Having stacked my bike on track I've repaired it somewhat but it's still held together with gaffa tape in places etc as there are only so many parts on fleabay and the likes and the costs all add up. More importantly I always feel like I'm riding an injured bike and I don't trust it as much. Thus unless you're gonna get a real pukka repair done, I would recommend taking the payout and looking for something new. At best I would only buy the bike back if it worked out in my favour to sell it on for parts etc
Hope you're ok and it all works out!
