Maybe you got the point Laurie! i.e. Brilliant roads, no cars, why haven't we made plans to visit yet?

Dude, don't tarnish the whole GM with the big headed brush. That thread started out as a little pointer to newbies. Some comments have made it seem like we think we're all WSB riders. The majority of us don't consider ourselves mega riders.

Yes! I'd prefer a base in mid Wales though, then far more awesome roads to choose from, north and south. Snowdonia is mega!

I did, but in the interest of you not incriminating yourself it is set to unlisted and I won't be posting it here.

Just a joke mate, that thread served its purpose well. I also wouldn't be surprised if your group are very good (and not just in the middle between good and bad) simply because of the number of rideouts GM organises. You can't help but improve with practice and guidance. Was more of a reference to my request for GM Vids (yes, I know its not a GM rideout) but no one else seems to post vids of their rideouts. Good video, looks like an entertaining ride.

Runako, seeing as how you failed miserably to organise anything last year in your ministerial role I suggest you get your thinking hat on for a NWGuildford ride-out late spring.

ALL you need to sort is :-
- decent weather
- affordable accommodation
- a date (not half-term and not too close to AR13)
- a route with some decent roads (can't be hard out your way)
- an understanding parent/partner to produce a dozen or so bacon sarnies on demand when we get there.

Get to it!

Yeah, experienced and competent is indeed a fair assumption, and as you said, not because of superhuman ability. It's just because we ride all the time.

Tom only brought his once AFAIK and never bothered to even look at the footage. Lazy gits. At least I've made 2 or 3 vids of us two, 2 org vids, that help for heroes vid and then some others. My finger is only partially up my bumhole, where as Tom's is so wedged he's tickling his tonsils.

Get to it!
When I went to Wales with the other lot we rented a self catering house. It worked out as £50 each, and it was awesome. Loads of space, two lounged, huge kitchen, balcony/decking, proper showers etc. and really good for chilling out in the evening. Civilised!

If it rains and you're camping, you don't have a dry base to go back to, and if you go to a pub you'll probably spend almost as much in alcohol and food over the weekend as we did on accommodation. B&Bs and things like that are crap for socialising. Hotels are too expensive.

Really, if you can get 6 peeps into a self catering holiday house it's awesome. I am happy to cook, as long as I can first dibs on the prostitute we hire.

Lol! For a GM Spring tour I think this would be the best idea. The house is probably gonna be a lot easier to get on with. Especially if anyone needs space to make "adjustments" to their bikes. A weekend is good for all the reasons Fallout mentioned and also agree that Mid Walses would be a good starting point, although I would be advocating routes more down South for obvious reasons.

I suppose with the weather as it is, there is no better time to propose a Spring Rideout so I will get on it Mark_H!
