Yeah i would agree, fix one thing at a time or it makes it a hassle to track down what problem is caused by what

Curvies go fine with out a can on them,LOUD but still go.
Popping banging might be a weak mixture .sounds like a pull on the bikes choke to see if richening it up helps a bit.

Water on the front plug? Was it raining when you took it for a ride?

![]() Quote:
Does it idle smoothly at it's normal rpm? Is the loss of power over the entire rev range, or specific to some rpm or throttle opening? Do both pipes heat up when you start it? Is it harder to start than it used to be? Have you looked at the spark plugs? Do a throttle chop at the time the power loss problem is in effect. To do a throttle chop, pull in the clutch while at the same time hitting the kill switch. Then pull the plugs and look at them. This will show you a lot of what's going on in the combustion chambers when it isn't running well. Pick a time and place where you can coast home after the throttle chop. Practice. |

Okay im stuck.
Took bike out again today and it ran crap for few miles. After that, all if a sudden I gained full power and it was perfect in every way. But shortly after it returned to not running ryt. Mechanic said fuel vacuum?? |

The hose that comes off the front of the fuel tap is the vacuum pipe. If that hasnt got a vacuum, the other hose wont be getting much fuel, so itll run like cr@p.
Make sure youve got a seal on that hose and it fits snuggly onto its little nipple thing. I agree with the mechanic, as i said before, mines come off before amd it sounds very similar If you get into high revs, then drop them again, does it almost stall out and stuggle to run? |

Solved it!!!
![]() So today has been a nice day weather wise so I got the bike out. Before I did anything I took my Haynes manual, and started reading up on fuel system. Anyway, long story cut short, it was the fuel tap. Well, the vacumm bit. All I did was take it off its union, and blow it pretty much. I took it for a ride and its perfect. Much nippier than before ![]() Note for future:- Fitting an end can to a standard bike does NOT mean it needs re jetting! |
