The original thread is in the "For Sale" section and this is in "Idle Banter".
For me to fill a "for sale" thread with "idle banter" wouldn't really be fair now would it ?

So who did eventually get it?

Would said item fit in a handbag?

I know where it would probably fit if shoved hard enough but may require further cleaning on retrieval

+1 Naughty,
Lew's apologized (a few times) - Well done that man for having the stones to stand up and be counted.
The OP has done a bunk.

Org wins again IMO.

^ Agreed, thanks for your input Lew, no hard feelings.
This thread was started to gauge others opinions and not to slate anybody in particular.

Too right, I'd be narked if a seller had agreed a sale with me then hiked his price to suit himself.
In fairness to the org, it does speak kindly of us that we highlighted the injustice of it all, other forums it maybe wouldn't have happened that way.

WOoho big love the org.

Do the selling guidelines need a little update?

A few years ago a guy on this forum had a red SV. YHH Marble Red.

He crashed it and sold his seat cowl via the forum for £35 quid. I bought it, arrived in the post, and I was well happy just as described, in the right colour, with immaculate paintwork. Until I tried to fit it and wondered how the hell it clipped into the bike without the grab rail. Then I did some research and learned that it needed the spacers which bolted in where the grab rail come off, and that allowed the cowl to clip down, and filled the gaps left in the tail. So I PM'd the guy and asked if he had this part that was essential to fitting the seat cowl he'd sold me. He replied saying he'd have a look in the garage, but it might have been left on the bike when the insurance company took it away. I waited a couple of weeks then PM'd again, no answer. Same again a couple of weeks later, no answer.

A genuine oversight maybe, but some further communication and perhaps the offer to refund the item would have been nice.

Maybe I should have kicked up a fuss on the public forum, but I didn't want to give the guy a bad name. I still won't name him because I don't feel it's right, but he knows who he is.
