Default Hit by a van.

The bike has some cosmetic damage to the front. I'm fine, little bit sore but generally ok.

As it turns out, the guy was reversing because he missed his turning.

I couldn't move out of the way because, one, I haven't been doing aforementioned backwards running with weights, and two, there were a large number of cars parked on the other side of the road.

Fallout, I stopped a long way behind it so that I could see his mirrors and see why he'd stopped.

I think I covered everything.

If you were 10 metres behind him, you could have moved forward and alongside his driver side increasing your chance of being seen.

Default Hit by a van.

There was no way to get beside the van. And by the time he'd started reversing he would have been too close for me to get on the curb.

Also, I had my lights on full beam. Did I mention I could see his mirror and see his eyes. He didn't even look.
