Bought a K3 recently complete with a pair of hard-ridden Supermaxx with plenty of tread on. Being new to SV's and V-twins (my last bike was a Hornet) my comments are v much anecdotal but I found these tyres really excellent in the dry on decent tarmac. But a bit iffy on the rear if bends go bumpy or there's grooves to wander about on. In driving rain still good (so I guess they pump water out well) but all gets v v fishy when the going gets rough, on banding, drain covers etc. All the usual suspects I know but with this tyre it's the dramatic difference between dry and wet performance I find a bit unnerving. Could be as much to do with tyre temperature as anything else? If that's the case then perhaps the Maxxis Supermaxx are not such a great choice for winter commuting.

I have had no issues with my maxxis rear at all, cant tell the difference from the michelin roadpilot(iirc) i had previously. Not tried one on the front yet though.

Twitchiness on overbanding and the like is usually down to worn tyres. A squared off rear especially. Whats it looking like? Is is squaring off?#
Also check the pressures as a low rear pressure will do the same. C |

Tyre pressures are pretty much spot on; I'll take a careful look to see if there's any signs of squaring off. I certainly can't feel any tipping in on bends.
