It is not only scoots that can be terrible parkers. I was at Rivington yesterday and parked up, an hour later and the sun comes out and 50 bikes are parked infront of mine.

I was able to turn the bike round and pushing behind all these bikes could not find a space to get through. Eventually a couple of beer bellies walked towards some of the offending bikes.

"Any of these yours?" "Yes do you want to get out ?" "err yes!" they then push two of them back to make room for me.

What irresponsible parker started the creation of a new row of bikes blocking in everyone behind by abandoning his bike?.......

A slightly dented blue SV650 with sv650.org on the bottom of a one line plate. I wonder who..... You know who you are and so do I.

Lets just say it was abandoned as close to the brew facilities as possible. Who do we know on here with an over riding need to drink tea.

anyone used the bays just off fitzroy square with the sunken ground anchors? they're recessed into the road and you just pull them up.

only problem, is they're alwats full of water a (not a huge problem) and they're spaced as if the aby will hold about 5 bikes... you usually find about 10 squeezed in, so theres a fair chance someone is parked on top of the ground anchor.... so nearly a good idea.

IMHO i think some bikes park as bad a scooters. worst offender i saw on a daily basis was a ducati monster, parked diagonally in a bay. every day!

scooters should just be banned. and **** parking in bike bays should get tickets. i park up in the city centre in southampton and they dont have a clue. bikes everywhere with no logic.i move scooters wen they take up loads of space. but what if i dropped one, id be a knob head for dropping a scooter but how do you explain that you tried to move their scooter and dropped it in the process?!

But then, what if someone parks up when there's loads of bikes, they all leave, then more people park in different places... You end up with bikes that were parked sensibly now in stupid places, so do they get tickets?

The solution's just to look at the bays that are packed, and make them bigger, it's that simple. Or make another one nearby.

No. I would not touch a bike belonging to anyone else, were I to live in London I might feel different. In Cardiff to see another bike is rare enough, to get completely blocked in is unheard of.

Luckily I have a locked compound at work where I park the bike, which is also under cover. I'm normally the first one in, and park the bike properly (back end first) to the wall. I will often come down to find that the soppy tart from customer support has just abandoned her scooter in front of a row of bikes, and that all of the other bikes have parked front in and given me no space to get out.

I have to get hold of the bike from the front, lean it upright, and pull it away from the others so I can get on it. (after I have moved said soppy tarts scooter, last time I left a note on it advising what would happen if it wasn't suitably parked in future!)

People only think of themselves, no one else. I even started parking at the other side of the compound but so did everybody else !! Lemmings !
