Me too but I fancied the Skye run to start with in the main mag. I'm just been checking out camp sites etc.

Visited the Millau Viaduc last June, excellent.

I'd suggest approach from the north on the autoroute, it's much more impressive than from the south.

Once over it carry on for about 15km to the next exit, double back on the normal road to Millau (pretty good too) and as you reach the town turn left (diection Albi). After a few km there's a small road on the left which takes you up the side of the cliff to a viewing area. Superb. Back down and then go to under the bridge itself where there's a visitor centre.

After that go back through Millau and off through the Tarn Gorge as others describe.

If you're really keen plan to do the Gorge de l'Ardeche too.

I worked for a while in Graz, Austria. Fabulous country round there, and Slovenia is CHEAP! Spent a Saturday in Maribor with my boss, we ate, drank and made merry, and spent about £10 for the whole day.

Problem I found in Graz was the weather, winter is miserable. OK the mountains are stunning on clear days with deep snow, but down in the valleys (e.g. Graz) the clouds hang and it's grey and cold (January is well below zero all month, and no sun), the roads are black with ground up grit which gets thrown about 1m up all the buildings. Very depressing. Spring on the other hand........... Be warned it can rain in summer, I don't mean light drizzly stuff, I mean torrential monsoon.....

Dolomites are absolutely stunning (weather permitting).

Nearer to home, I have a cousin lives in Normandy and so visit when possible. Portsmouth/Cherbourg or Caen with Brittany isn't too dear, their fastcraft are better than regular ferries, and there are some superb empty roads. The scenery isn't in the stunning category, but it's nice rolling land, and very little traffic off the main roads, really good biking country.

Might manage a trip down to Cornwall

I suggest you take a plane to Malaga, autoroute del sol to Marbella and ask Peter to show you the road to Ronda. It's unforgettable. Perhaps next time I'll do it more justice - but then I won't be on a crap XT*

Le Mans.

Leaving on the Thursday morning. Hoping to take in the invasion beaches.

Returning on the Monday so no hurry to get back.

If you like Zee Gorges, then do the Gorge du Verdon. The deepest in Europe. Ride up is tough, but worth it!
