Ok Ok.... Here it is.

The bolt that holds the rear caliper to the torque arm, fell out.
Must of happened between my house and where i was going.
The caliper rotated a tad before the brake line stopped it, lucky it did not snap as it was braided. I was using the rear brake lots on the way there. That bolt has not been taken off the bike in ages (start of year or so) so i dont know why it came loose. Anyway it did, nothing happened, put new bolt in nice and tight and it was ok again.

The caliper was not loose from the mounting, just the torque arm. It would have not fallen off, but could have rotated all the way around, snapping the brake line and damaging the swing arm. I did not hear anything as i had ear plugs in, not sure if i would have heard anyway, it was still braking though.

it happend to someone on here a while back where the caliper did spin round the disk and caused damage, ever since then ive been checking mine.

Cool!!

But how would this effect the top speed? By simply being loose from the torque arm shouldn't mean it is being applied, it can just spin round its axis?

I cant pin 100% why it would not, but it seemed to have a big affect on the speed. Its possable that the brakeline being kinked caused fluid not to travel and lock it on the disk.

the pressure on the hose was prob just applying the pads alittle.
