It's untouched from this crash (well, a little chip) but it's already been filled and re-sprayed once (shhh... ).

Besides if it's written off by the 3rd party's insurers they will take it away, won't they?

I think you'll find as I have done it was bike as standard, so I took all the non standard bits off and put if back to original state.

true, they probably will. out of interest then, how much did it cost you to fill/respray and can you tell? i only have a scrape on one edge of the fairing - pretty small really - but it'll get in the way when trying to sell it

The front fairing and tank done for £150 plus £50 for the paints but it's not Suzuki quality. That was a friend of a friend though and he doesn't do it for a trade, just a hobby. New decals were about £30 too.

Might be worth looking on ebay, if you do get it sprayed it will have to be the whole panel, pearlescent (sp) paint is very hard to match.

i saw an undamaged blue one for the first time a couple of weeks ago but got outbid by one of those damn auto bid things it only went for £71.50 too (plus £20 p&p). Probably would have paid up to £100 but no-one was bidding really so didn't increase mine!

I think if I replace it I will just get a new one from suzuki by the sounds of it - £178...

I'm impressed the crash broke the rearsets

Thanks for the funniest crash post ever. For that you have my heartfelt wishes for your recovery and claim.

Have you got Legal cover if only TPFT - You often get it for free when you get a quote or with house insurance - have a good look for it!

An amazing amount of damage for a 'light crash'. Hope everything gets sorted out for you, bike is almost identical to mine and which is also TPFT. Might have a rethink on that now!!

Especially like the positive thinking regarding the cleanliness and fuel situation...
