Just saw this now(far too late but..)..... A large allen key and a nail/broken peg stump..... place allen key underneath lever, with the right angle bit where you want the peg.... insulating tape or duct tape it in place(use as much as is feasable) place broken stub/nail above the lever facing out at 90 deg(where peg was) form a triangle when viewed from front/back with allen key.... duct tape/insulating tape in place.....

It got me through 300km one night
You could do it with 2 nails/bits of stick etc...you just have to form th e triangle with them and tape them solidly to the lever and form a bandage type fillet with tape to save from forward/backward movement....

Clear as mud yeah?

when i wrecked my bike i picked it up and the shifter knob was gone so i took off redlined it in first reached over with my right hand pulled in the clutch and then with the left hand reached down and shifted. I took my anger out on it when i picked it up and rode it home it got a good work out for 20 miles

All this talk of sticking it in 3rd or 2nd! - Bunch of pansies. I rode home from Lydden (90miles) in 6th gear. The SV's got more Torque than you think!
