Hi new here to the forum. Just to say that the silver text on black back ground is still legal here in Guernsey. Those you that have seen it on modern bikes if they had no letters (except GBG) just numbers then they were from Guernsey.

I like 'em... But yep, dead illegal, and it's the sort of illegal that probably attracts a load of attention. On the right bike they work well, I saw an ace Monster with clipons and a neat wee solo tail that carried one, and it fitted the look perfectly.

The joys of living in Portugal... my license plate is black on white, and small according to your standards, and still no one gives a rats ass...

I have to admit though that there were a group of lads at the Ace the other day on 07 R1's in black with single line black number plates in black and silver and they looked really nice.

I saw an R1 with one of these get pulled over yesterday in North London. It wouldn't surprise me if it was because of the plate.

They do work well on some bikes, particularly Bonevilles. I saw a Thruxton with one and it really looked like a classic bike. Even though I've ridden one, I still found it hard to tell that it was a modern Triumph. I expect that most cops would assume that it was a 60's bike.

What with an '05 plate? The number plate will always tell you the age.
