You have a max effective range on that of around 150m (outdoors, good weather). The receiver has AV out (via composite cables), but you need some way to record it all.

If you want to record it on your computer, you'll have to carry the computer around with you on the bike, and power that as well.

The problem is, I can't even plug it into my computer, theres no sockets that fit and I can't find a USB adaptor for AV.
I thing I'll just have to sit my digital camera on the tank and wrap a load of tape around it!

You can buy video capture cards for the PC that take composite video in.

I searched video capture cards on google and it came up with this. Will this do the job? I know I can't tie the laptop to the bike but it would let me record from my plane, which is why I bought the camera in the first place!

That's the jobby for USB use. Perfect for a laptop.

Why can't you tie the laptop to the bike? Pillion seat, bungee net & a black bin bag will have you sorted. Take a look at your laptop charger output values too. You'll probably find you can charge your laptop from the bike directly. How handy is that?

Thanks, just purchased!

Not sure I like the idea of the laptop tied to the bike in case of crashing etc. would rather have the digi-cam take the fall. The laptop would need to be open aswell, if I could do it with the lid down I now have some soft panniers my neighbour gave me the other day that I could use with a load of packing in for protection.

It would be cool to be driving along with the laptop facing backwards so the people behind could see what I see!

Output on charger is 19V 3.42A - is this good?

Not great, but not terrible. Maplin do a "step up" charger that will run on 12v input, and kick out 19v output. I'm not sure on the current rating on it though. So long as it's rated above 3.42A, you're laughing.

I am considering buying one of these thingies:

I think my digital camera has an AV input but will check before ordering. If not I will probably be buying a digi cam corder at some point in the near future anyway.

That's pretty much identical to my cam, so should do you fine, so long as you have the AV input on the camcorder.

My cam came with a Li-Ion battery, and no sucker mount, and was approx £25 cheaper. The sucker mounts are something like £17 from dogcamsport. You could get the cam that I have, and buy a sucker mount from dogcamsport, and save yourself having to buy batteries.

Aha! Good plan. When you say you don't need batteries do you ahve the 12v rechargable battery pack?
