Re: Sunday 14th
If anyone is looking for knee-down training. touch base with Hooligan Dan on this forum. He's a well accomplished knee-downer and lives Crowthorn way so local enough. No idea on his ability (or desire) to pass on his "skill" but he's famous for it and even has sparkly knee sliders. Following him in the dark is a bit like going to a firework show.

Re: Sunday 14th
Bracknell is the place to practice, the town of roundabouts! Plus the slip roads Mark mentioned are perfect for training as they are both one way roads with no barrier (although you might want to avoid the kerbs ). The road is really wide and I've never had a problem with grip. Let me know if anyone wants to go there, it's where I learnt to do it. You can literally wear your sliders out in 2 passes the bend is that long. It's all about hanging off the bike, if you feel silly your almost there.

Re: Sunday 14th
I'm up for it! Question: I have textiles, obviously not a great idea for long scrapes etc, but would it be ok for just a little touch down, just so I know it made contact? Or is it all about leaning hard on the knee? I don't want to lose my waterproofing, nor suddenly have them grip and rip my knee off backwards!

Re: Sunday 14th
I'll come just to watch! Silly question, but can you get knee armour with sliders on to avoid having to buy a new pair of trousers?

What you can do is sew on some velcro patches and buy some knee sliders. Don't try the stick on velcro patches, they are useless, I tried! I have some spare brand new black oxford knee sliders if you are after some? |
