the horizontal play, isn;t play. It is most likely the sleeve moving side to side. Looking at the bolt there, i would say it is wrong. I have installed a gixxer shock on mine. The bolt from Suzuki has a collared head on the bolt and nut. The nut is also shallower and a lock nut (with metal rings, not nylock) i'll grab a picture and upload it for reference.

No, its definately play - clear gap all the way through.

EDIT: Tomorrow I will take a torch with and triple check.

i've just checked how i have mine fitted.

bolt goes the other way in, bolt has a washer and nut side has just the nut. you have to put the bolt in the other way or it fouls.

all bolts are fitted left to right, or so i believe. And the clearance shouldn't be larger on one side, it's all in line it's not offset. I have a larger gap on the head of the bolt and about a mm between the nut and the dog leg. It's the same even if the bolt is the other way round

to me that clevis looks wrong, you shouldn't have to pinch the clevis at all, the ohlins ones fit nice and snug with about .2mm clearance

i have seen two cracked clevises now from pinching them tight (bit more than 2mm though)

if your desperate i could knock up 2x .6 mm shims up to take up the slack or thicker if needed ?

I'm pretty sure the clearance isn't equal, on a pointy at least. I helped fit a friends Nitron and the nut and bolt would only fit one way around without hitting the dogbones.

If the alloy fork really has 2.5mm of clearance to the bearing sleeve it sounds like Nitron have the wrong fork on there; it should be a close sliding fit.

The Swingarm sits in line with the frame, the monoshock linkage is located centrally in the frame, The upper dog leg mounting point (on the swingarm) is central. It all sits in line. On the monoshock linkage, the sides are equal where the dog legs bolt through. If the dog legs were offset the suspension would be wonky, and there would be more strain on one side of the bolts & bearings.

A quick search through the forum suggests wonky swing arms or linkages must be very common, as plenty of people doing shock swaps have noted this.

more than likely i would suspect the bearings-swingarm, monoshock linkage and upper dog bone mount. Changed all mine (except swingarm) when changing my shock recently.

looks as if the dog bones "squeeze" in as they join the swinning arm
