IMHO, if you want to improve your riding, about the only thing you can do that you're not doing is to hang off.

The reason that you still have strips on the PR2s is because different tyres have different profiles. If you want to get rid of the strips, change to different tyres. But then you'll be right on the edge of the tyre, which may not be a good thing.

I occasionally get the pegs down on the road (I know, naughty), but it doesn't detract from confidence levels, it's more fun for me. I too have chicken strips, and I'm on PR2s. Though yours a probably a fair bit smaller than mine due to the fact you have rearsets.

Save your money & improve on your body positioning.
