few questions if i may....

1, the "waste" part, the bit being discarded, is the clamp end yea?

Yes.

2, are all rivets same size or specific size i need? (im such an office boy)

Whatever looks the best head size i used big ones.

3, i know how to clean up and polish down pipes and get them all lovely...

Apparently wonder wheels does a fantastic job followed by autosol.

but how do i do it with the can...im guessing i cant use wet and dry with the autosol? or can I?

Have a look here - http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=901801 for a superb value kit. Thats what you need not sure as yet how to remove the factory finish but i suspect it will need rubbing down through the grades to about 1200 grit then polish.

4, any suggestions on length?

I cropped 7 1/2" off mine and it looks cool i think.

and lastly...when u say "drill" the old rivets out..what does this mean...is it like unscrew then using a drill+bit....or?

A drill bit smaller than the head and the heads spin off the tap the other end into the exhaust. The inside part will drop out when its appart.

sorry to ask what probably seems like real basic questions, im always the same, things like this tend not to trust my instinks and do it blind..need as much info as poss!!

Hope this helps mate and good luck!

Cheers.

Colin.
I have never had a stock can but i think they are welded and not riveted and have fixed baffles. I would buy a cheap slip on can from a breakers or Ebay (Ebay is not a cheap place generally) and try it cut it down if you think it needs it. Remember if you are replacing a stock can your bike may need setting up after you fit it.

It would make a difference but it would be a pain in the ar*e to do as the stock can is welded together and the internals are completely different.

Get yourself a cheap secondhand budget exhaust off of Ebay and go from there....

Tested and and its superb, the deceleration rumble in enclosed streets is like something evil sent from the gods but its quiet when you keep the revs down on occasions where you dont want to draw attention to yourself.

All in all a job well worth doing - Heres a picture of it on the bike sorry about the state of the photo and my bike but its like a bog where i live at the moment and i've given up cleaning it!
