Looks nice mate. I'm still debating whether to bother re-spraying my 7R or leave it as is. The satin black frames do bring it up to date. My swing arm is scratched to hell where the last owner obviously couldn't use a padock stand properly.

PUT THE HOOVER TUBES ON!! I always wanted a bike with hoover tubes on as a kid, even the 400 (with the fake tubes )

They're not on it! I'd put them back, after all they're not there for cosmetics.

I'd say probably in the same way a surgeon would cringe at someone's DIY appendectomy.

I think it looks good. What have you got planned for the fairing?

i took them off while everything was stripped off, they dont really do much more than cosmetics, its not actually a ram air, they just pass through the tank and end above the top of the engine, a little extra cooling. it was when they switched to the L/M models (one intake on left) that they started using ram air.

i think i will put them on, distinctive zxr. now, i think i will paint them black as well

as for the fairing, i was thinking of something similar to the kawasaki moto gp bikes but more black. mostly black with a green stripe up the side and one over the top. but im not 100% on that yet.

oh, as to the painters opinions.

i know its not perfect, and wont last as long as a full on strip back and using 'correct' paints. but it cost 13 quid, which means even if i have to do it every year (only a few hours work) then it would take a long time for paying someone to do it to be cost effective.

as for the fairings, if its done right 'rattle' cans can provide as good a finish as paint from a paint gun, at the end of the day its the same paint. although it is harder to get the finish right with a can.
