I have mine connected via headphone output to my Autocom , it only ever gets used for really hard to find places , in general it is onboard for long journeys as an MP3 player and a backup route planner if something bad occurs .

Just had a quick look around. That is the budget model and I would guess you found out the answer to your own question.
Wondering if there are any films that can be applied to improve daylight readability.
