Indeed! Bet you can't wait till I finally get round to fitting that gixxer front end

The amount I saved on crashing the banana was lots though, that was the first major work I'd done on a 'big' bike. I wrecked just about every plastic, and needed to swap the tank, snapped the forks, bent the handlebars, turned the front wheel into a semicircle, wrecked the header pipes etc.etc. Got it back on the road for about £300 in parts.

You take your life in your hands with insufficient training riding the thing, what's difference?

Noone trying to kill you in your own garage either.

No riskier than riding bike then!

Slightly greater risk of being a bit on fire, but only slight

Don't I remember a oil soaked overall and a grinder situation?

I am the guy who took apart the shocks on my old Cub 90 because of a clonking and vague handling, and found I hadn't done the front axle up - and had been riding it for a couple of months before it got unbearable. I know what my "spannering" (ie bodging) is like and wish I could afford to learn properly, without being my own test pilot!
