Thanks everyone. Got the brakes sorted today, sprockets/chain are here, just need to fit them, however, noticed a small oil leak on my garage floor today. Looks like it's coming from a breather pipe running down the right side of the engine, coming from the area of the top of the rear cylinder, then terminates just above the brake pedal. I'll have a better idea once I get the fairing off, does anyone have any ideas what this breather pipe is for

mm well I'd clean everything off and do the talc test as i did, I'd be surprise to see it coming down the pipe as that pipe comes from the fuel and coolant system doesn't it? Anyway clean it all off and spray with talc and see where it is.

Also check in the air-box for any oil Is it over-filled by any chance? (rmember, the bike must be upright when checking oil, not on the sidestand....might seem like im telling you how to suck eggs, but some people don't realise this fact...ignore it though...I don't doubt you know how to check oil on a motorcycle!)

Ok, I have to admit to being a bit thick as far as the oil leak is concerned. Dave, you are spot on, excess oil. The previous owner had fitted a new oil filler cap, with a dip stick, which was reading fine. It wasn't until my haynes manual arrived yesterday, that I realised that I should have been reading the sight glass. In my defence though, I didn't get an owners manual, & my bike is fully faired, so you can't see the sight glass until you take that off! Front sprocket got fitted yesterday, so glad I checked it, the locking nut wasn't even hand tight, and was only being held in place by the tab on the washer being hand tight. Just got to do the rear sprocket, fit the chain & drain some oil, then I'll be a happy man
