You'll need two relays of course, one each for left and right. One terminal of the switch contacts, (30 or 87 on a DIN marked relay), goes to a permanent live, (fused of course, and with the fuse as close to the source as possible), and the other, (87, 30), into the indicator wiring system. Either 85 and 86 go to the indicator output from the alarm and the other to neutral, (earth). Probably a good idea to use a quench diode across the coil in case of inductor spikes - don't know the internals of the System 4, and I'd be surprised if it were susceptible but diodes are cheap insurance. DIN: 85, 86; winding. 30; wiper. 87; NO. 87a; NC.

Hmph, well seems I shouldnt need the relay after all but I might do it in the future just for the better performance...
It turns out I bought indicators that should only be put in one way. Sigh. Oh well working now after 3 Fuses so happy. Just have to remember if I need to do anything with them again. |
