So if they use cheap dye and the colour fades on the anodising fast thats a problem thats all to do with cost cutting. What other cost cutting measures have they used like grades of material etc to save even more money. I know of 2 people who have had brakes pump up using cheap levers (one crashed)
You can tell cheap parts as they are normally very shiny to "attract" the buyer and cover the fact the material is low grade, these ones are very very shiny plus they are weird colours not matching anything the Japanese or Europeans anodise their own products with. China through and through with quality to match....buyer beware! They are only pictured from the top, my bet is that they have a big nyloc on the underside of the pivot pin to hold it together. Decent levers are machined to accept the pivot bolt that is wasted down as oppose to a simply cheap bolt holding it. Another cost cutting measure.... For the work that goes into them Pazzo's or other European brands are not expensive and you have a company to go back to if the worst happens, quality tested parts from reliable sources thats what you are paying for... Its like cheap bike insurance, its only cheap if it pays out when you need it? Last edited by Matts-Yokes; 29-11-10 at 01:35 PM. |

I bought a £14.00 standard front brake lever from ebay when replacing the one I snapped. The replacement has not stood up well to the road salt, while the original clutch level on the other side shows no issues. This happened very quickly, with the first lot of salt that went down several weeks ago.
If anyone has an original brake lever for a curvy that they're happy to part with - please do let me know. |

Personally I avoid any of this far east stuff. In particular when it involves things like brakes.
Thing with brakes is when they fook it is normally an ambulance job, or worse. |

So you don't ride a suzuki then?
![]() Alloy milled into shape is pretty fool proof. Stock levers are cheap die cast tat anyway. If they fit and work they will be fine, nothing is under that much stress to be subject to massive fatigue. Cheap stock pattern levers are another thing, heard of a few of those snapping randomly due to faults in the casting process.
