I've not boughty own car Tyres for 5 years or so. But when I look for Kerry F1 Tyres are alway the be and will beat any other local price.

She has a MINI cooper D and I've heard the dealer is very very cheap on Tyres so I will have to give them a go next time.

That's OK then. I'd have had kittens if somebody quoted me that for four tyres for an A3.

I think the tyre dealers do rip off the company car owners, though large lease companies usually have it wrapped up with a tyre choice and price agreed for each vehicle in advance with one of the large tyre fitting chains, and they are getting better prices than you or I could get. Means the driver doesn't get a choice over what tyres go on his car though.

My Vectra SRI is low profile and I bought it because it had some toys that the base model didn't have, and dark tinted glass which I prefer for security. Over the lifetime of the car I'd probably have been better paying £500 more for the luxury model rather than the sporty model, which has all the same interior toys and the tinted glass, but the tyres are half the price.

I have always found valuetyres.co.uk are a pretty good place to find out what you should be paying.

Conti Sport Contacts 225/45 R17 Y on there are £104 each

I don't buy them there though as the Vectra is really sensitive to tyre imbalance, so I have to get them from somewhere that has a Hunter GSP9700 tyre balancer and knows how to use it. They price match with value tyres though!

Thank god for a bog standard Honda Accord and a friend in the trade.

Before Bri put this up I have been asked to find out about new tyres for my neighbours BMW Sportline which I have garaged for her while she is in Australia[Comes home on the 2nd Dec]------
Different size front and rears and got quoted silly money but I am waiting to see if Costco can come up with a better price as they have a deal on at the moment if you buy four. I have checked and they don't need to be the same size, just buy four.

I find Costco very competitive on tyre prices for standard sizes or van tyres and often have promotions for a reputable brand
