I've done a week's touring on my K6 750 taking in 7 countries, fine as the footpegs can be put in the low position.
And then on track put the foot pegs up and back for max attack. Great bike, although I rarely get to rinse it properly on the road here in dull clogland. If you want to thrash it harder/twist the throttle more on the road how about a GSXR 600? Or another 600 SS? I'm sure there are other bikes out there that would do a similar job. For less cash the 929 + 954 Blades, Kawasaki ZX-7R, First generation Aprilia RSV Milles, Letterbox tail R1s etc should all do a similar job. Enjoy your shopping. |

Would this be a stupid choice?! (I'm thinking so...) Out of interest, whats people's opinions on VFRs, 800s not 1200s... |

Cheers guys.
Just waiting impatiently for the insurance payout to arrive. Then I'll be annoying you lot even more! Regarding the earlier mentioned Daytona 675, would love one, but doubt my budget would stretch to bike + fully comp. insurance! Please keep posting ideas! Also, for those near S. Wales, anyone bought a bike from Thunder-road? Had a bike serviced with them out of necessity, bit pricey... |

The VTEC is a bit of a like or hate thing. I'm quite happy to get a spot more power around 7000 rpm because it kicks in just as I'm overtaking. But if you spend most of your ride around 6500rpm you would hate it. I'd suggest giving one a test ride before parting with your hard earned money, just to see how the VTEC suits your riding style. If you're looking for a full on sports bike the GSX-R 750 is seriously tempting, but if you want a mile munching bike the VFR is hard to beat. Just my thoughts, Keith. |
