Maxxis - I have same sizes on my XT225. Was £46 rear, £36 front. They have deep 15mm knobbles and look and grip like a motocross tyre, but are E marked for road use. Sound a bit like a tractor on the road mind.
Previosuly had MT21 - they were very good, but wore quick |

Not really heard of Maxxis, I've had a look online and i'm split between the Pirelli Scorpion MX extra (don't know if these are street legal) and the Michilen AC10 Which i know are street legal, any one used these? any opinions?

Pm -Ralph-, he fitted his XT600 with the stock ones that gs beemers use, they are a 'dual' tyre, work pretty decent on and off road apparently.
I cant remember what they are called. |

![]() but that's because my XT is also my winter hack and does more road mileage than off road. If you do want a true dual purpose tyre that handles on road I'd recommend these. I also have plans for it that involve European off road trips, but that will require a lot of motorway work to get there, as my wife is French and both brother-in-law (ex-regional motocross champ) and father in law have quads, and my best friend has a house near the Serra da Estrela mountains in Portugal. Apparantly you can do Biarritz to Perpignan along the length of the Pyrenees without touching tarmac once you hit the mountains. That's definitely on the to-do list. |

I desided to go with the Michilen AC10's, went out for a couple hours yesterday and what a difference a tyre with grip makes, they seem ok on the road and give very good grip in the mud and loose gravel, the only place i found they let go a little is when it got a little rockier, nothing to bad just a bit more effort requierd.
