I'm thinking carb icing?

its called having an aftermarket exhaust

Not cold enough for carb icing...well not here in SIberia anyway

Any aftermarket exhaust wouldn't cause a large miss-fire/loss of power.
Could it have been a fuel pump miss-hap or similar?
Ideas?

might have just had a bit of a cough. Maybe needs the carbs cleaned and balanced. Might have just swallowed some sh1te coming from the bottom of the tank. ORRR it might have a teeny hole in one of the hoses on the carbs? I've had that causing misfiring
Possibly, very oddly might have an electric gremlin? I had one of those that caused misfiring and sudden loss of power only to come back again, I changed the coils, the HT leads, even cleaned the red wire terminal under the fairing.
Oh and choke cables...them as well. Get crapped up and make the bike run lumpy.
Could be owt

If it happens again I'm going to whip the carbs off and give it a bloody good inspection.

Anyone have a spare brake lever I can take off your hands?

Mine is broken in half (previous owner dropped the bike)

Thanks,

Hi and welcome, nice looking bike. Booking a track day on Snetterton can I assume you're cambridgeshire/norfolk/suffolk based? You'll have to introduce yourself in the EAR section of the site here: http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=147

There is a good levers thread here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=159818 going into uber detail on the anodised hong kong levers you can get fairly cheap...might be worth going that route for some nice all black levers maybe? When I need new levers it will be some moto 777's I think...

Yeah I'm a Norwich boy. Really just after 1 standard brake lever, not bothered about any aftermarket levers as I've got another bike I constantly buy trick bits for.

Thanks,

Anything in specific I should check before I give her the beans?
What PSI should I use in my 020's?
I run 36 front/42 rear in my 021s.

I read an interesting article in Bike magazine last year regarding tyre pressures, in that the recommended pressures given by motorcycle manufacturers shouldn't be followed as they refer to the OE tyres and their method of construction.

Check the Bridgestone website, or search on here, but someone will probably tell you soon enough.

I always chuck 36/42 in and work it out from there. Dropping or raising pressures to suit as I ride the bike and get a feel for the tyres.
